The Bomb Fashion Show is coming back on September 6th, 2025, and we’re excited to welcome everyone! Our list of designers is quickly filling up, so if you’re interested in presenting your collection, shoot us an email at events@fashionbombdaily.com.
One of the brands showcasing at the New York Fashion Week in September is LA-based designer Monaco Colombia. The brand’s name has a special meaning. The owner, Danielle Oliver, explains that her parents met and fell in love in Monaco. Her father is Colombian and Nigerian, so she combined these significant parts of her heritage to create the brand.
Danielle’s passion for fashion started when she was young. She recalls being particular about her outfits, even when her grandmother couldn’t afford the styles she liked. She would put together her own unique looks. Her first job in a garment factory in her early twenties solidified her desire to express her creativity through clothing design.
With 25 years of experience in the apparel industry, Danielle has worked with companies like True Religion, Seven Jeans, and BCBG in roles ranging from production to fabric buying and design. One of her earliest fashion memories is from middle school, where she was named “best dressed” in her yearbook.
At The Bomb Fashion Show, Monaco Colombia will present its signature style, which blends baggy and classic elements. Oliver explains that the new collection draws on timeless influences from Colombian and European cultures, creating a unique and dynamic fusion. The designs are centered around innovation, style, and quality, ensuring each piece delivers a distinctive look.
Monaco Colombia is showcasing at the event because The Bomb Fashion Show has given the African American community a significant platform in the fashion industry. Danielle praises Claire for breaking the status quo and inspiring black designers to feel “bomb.” Claire’s journey from crashing fashion shows to sitting in the front row is truly inspiring.
