Designer Jason Wu has once again wowed the fashion world with his stunning creations. During New York Fashion Week, Wu teamed up with 82-year-old Taiwanese calligrapher Tong Yang-Tze to showcase his Spring 2025 collection.
Against a striking black structural backdrop at Hudson Yards garden, models flaunted abstract, textural outfits that were both innovative and stylish. Embracing the current times, the collection featured unfinished hems and deconstructed silhouettes, symbolizing flexibility and the pursuit of new directions.
Wu drew inspiration from Yang-Tze’s famous large-scale calligraphic works in black cursive script. This influence was evident in the free-form writing that adorned the garments, complemented by sheer fabrics and pleats, demonstrating a rebellious yet refined aesthetic.
Wu, a designer who values the beauty of simplicity and meticulous detail, presented clean lines and soft pastels, paired with flatform sandals. The color brown, a key shade for this fall, also played a significant role in his Spring 2025 line, which included oversized textural suits and avant-garde maxi dresses that were visually pleasing.
