The coronavirus has really shaken things up, with officials urging everyone to stay home to prevent the spread of this highly infectious disease. Since I already work from home, my daily routine hasn’t changed much. However, the cancellation of events has left me with plenty of free time that I’d usually spend socializing.
Even in tough times, I try to see the positive side. Yes, the idea of millions getting sick is frightening, but while we isolate, there are many ways to keep our spirits high:
1. Use the downtime to reflect and plan. My 2020 has been busy with constant travel and late nights, leaving little room for rest. Now, I have a chance to slow down and focus on my long-term goals. We have two major events this year: our NYFW show on September 12th and the Faby’s on December 12th. This break gives us the perfect opportunity to prepare thoroughly and ensure these events are outstanding.
2. Start on projects you’ve been procrastinating. I’ve been wanting to launch my “Convos with Claire” podcast for months but kept putting it off. Now is the perfect time to kickstart any new ventures you’ve been delaying. No more excuses!
3. Get creative! When was the last time you updated your blog, YouTube channel, or website? It’s been at least two weeks since I updated “The Bomb Life.” It’s time to get back to writing, vlogging, and creating content.
4. Take care of yourself. I often wear wigs for various events and the constant use has affected my scalp and edges. I’m taking this downtime to focus on my natural hair health with protective styles and products like Kreyol Essence.
5. Enjoy some relaxed screen time. I recently finished watching “The Circle” on Netflix and loved “Love is Blind” before that. Now is a great time to catch up on TV shows or learn something new on YouTube.
While the coronavirus situation is indeed frightening due to its unpredictability, it’s important to take necessary precautions. Wash your hands frequently, use hand sanitizer, and stay safe, everyone.
