Fashion Update: Alessandro Michele Transitions from Gucci to Lead Valentino

Roman designer Alessandro Michele has been officially announced as the new Creative Director of Valentino, taking over from Pierpaolo Piccioli, who led the Italian fashion house for 25 years. Michele, who was formerly the Creative Director at Gucci, brings a wealth of experience and expertise to Valentino. His first collection for the brand will be showcased during September Fashion Week for Spring/Summer 2025.

Michele has built a strong fan base among celebrities like Rihanna, A$AP Rocky, Billie Eilish, and Harry Styles with his bold, maximalist designs. He has definitely pushed the boundaries with his avant-garde style. In the tight-knit fashion world, connections matter as much as talent, and Michele has worked with iconic figures like Karl Lagerfeld, Tom Ford, and Silvia Venturini Fendi.

Additionally, Michele will be reuniting with Valentino CEO Jacopo Venturini, with whom he collaborated during his tenure at Gucci. We eagerly anticipate seeing Michele’s modern approach and unique vision take center stage at Valentino’s upcoming show this September!
