Rick Owens Showcases His Dark and Gothic “LIDO” Collection at Paris Fashion Week

Rick Owens, known for his dark, edgy, and avant-garde style, once again wowed the fashion world with his latest high-fashion grunge collection. The runway show took place at the Palais de Tokyo, where attendees gathered around a stage shrouded in neon pink and yellow fog. Models showcased striking, demonic silhouettes as they walked through the garden.

Inspired by Icelandic artist Björk, whose concert Owens attended in September, the collection symbolized hope. Owens was moved by Björk’s intelligent and life-affirming energy and wanted to capture that spirit in his designs.

Owens beautifully transitioned his collection from dark to light colors, highlighted by flower petals falling from the sky. The collection featured everything from all-black outfits with sheer face masks and motorcycle jackets with exaggerated lapels, to soft pink asymmetrical dresses paired with bright mustard gloves. Owens’ LIDO collection stood out for its architectural design and unique blend of fabrics like chiffon, sheer materials, and leather.

The accessories were just as bold, with models wearing platform heels featuring thick straps across the front, complementing Owens’ signature square toe. The models’ blacked-out eyes added to the eerie and dramatic theme.

Owens didn’t hold back with innovative and fresh shapes, including voluminous silk parachute trains on various garments. His collection showcased an evolution of his dark and mysterious fashion world, pushing the boundaries of traditional fashion.

Rick Owens once again proved his ability to think outside the box during Paris Fashion Week, inviting attendees into his unique vision of fashion.
