Urban One Honors celebrated its 6th Annual event at the Coca Cola Roxy in Atlanta, recognizing and honoring black excellence. The event was brimming with numerous celebrities, including change makers, trailblazers, and pioneers in the fields of arts, music, and media.
Mary J. Blige, a Grammy award-winning singer, received the Entertainment Icon Honoree award, while R&B singer Chlöe won the Generation Next Honoree award. Mary J. Blige wowed the crowd in a black lava Gaurav Gupta sculpted gown from the “Shunya collection,” fitting perfectly with the event’s ‘Best in Black’ theme. In contrast, Chlöe sparkled in a sequined and crystal-embellished retrofete ‘Haven’ dress, paired with matching gloves and stunning glam.
Former Destiny’s Child member LeToya Luckett looked stunning in a powder pink Toni Maticevski gown, complemented by black Balenciaga boots and flawless makeup. Speaking with Fashion Bomb Daily correspondent Sheek, Luckett fondly remembered her first designer purchase, likely a ‘Gucci bag.’
Toya Johnson graced the event in a yellow Bronx and Banco gown with frayed edges and a long train, embodying goddess vibes. Comedian and actress B Simone impressed in a red custom London Couture leopard print gown with a high slit, accessorized with a bold red lip, china bangs, and diamond jewels.
