Coryn Monét is making waves in the luxury fashion world with her multi-brand venture, Envysaje Atelier. Hailing from Houston, Texas, she recently showcased her talent at the Bomb Fashion show after a stint living in France.
Monét explains her recent journey: “I just moved back to the U.S. after spending seven months in the South of France with my boyfriend. I went there to relax and gather inspiration for my rebrand.”
Her rebrand comes nearly ten years after graduating from college and teaching herself to sew using YouTube tutorials and online resources. Despite the many challenges she faced as a self-taught designer, Monét persevered. She was committed to learning and sourced quality fabrics to refine her skills through trial and error.
As Monét began sharing her work on social media, her follower count grew, and people started requesting custom pieces from her. “My followers would ask if I could make them a jacket or a dress,” she says. What started as creating swimwear evolved into making jackets, prom gowns, and eventually wedding dresses.
Monét has since expanded her brand beyond custom designing to include Ready-To-Wear, cosmetics, and menswear. “My brand is all-inclusive because I know how important it is for plus-size individuals to find fashionable clothing in stores,” she notes.
Inspired by her time in Europe, Monét has shifted from using bold colors and prints to focusing on neutral tones. This change was evident in her collection at New York Fashion Week.
“This was my first time participating in New York Fashion Week, specifically for my favorite fashion blog,” Monét shares. “It’s a significant milestone for me, and I appreciate the opportunity knowing how influential Fashion Bomb Daily is.”
Starting from humble beginnings, Coryn Monét has transformed her dreams into reality by leveraging available resources and creating her own opportunities. Her innovative designs had attendees captivated, showcasing the impressive talent she brings to the fashion industry.
