Oh, the lengths we go to for fashion! On a rainy Wednesday evening in Paris, cars were barely moving around Place du Trocadero. Despite the weather being downright dreadful, dedicated fans still gathered outside the venue near the Eiffel Tower, hoping to catch a glimpse of their favorite stars from the Balmain Army. Celebrities like Anitta, Cardi B, Brooklyn Beckham, and even France’s first lady made their way in without a hair out of place. Anitta joked backstage that her dress was so tight, she could hardly breathe.
The show offered a delightful escape, with the words “Je T’aime” or “I Love You” softly playing on the loudspeakers. The first looks featured sequined red lips, as if trying to kiss away the gloom. Next came dresses adorned with feminine faces and outfits showcasing distinct Parisian stripes, all styled in Balmain’s unique way.
Balmain’s Spring/Summer 2025 collection was actually more wearable than usual. Black blazers with sharp shoulders were stylishly paired with silk blouses and tailored pants made from wool and leather. Tote bags, fastened with belts, are set to become the next must-have work accessory. Splashes of color appeared with red sequined dresses and blush pink gowns, the latter closing the show in a flurry of silk that would make any fashion lover blush.
The collection had primarily mini lengths with a few floor-length gowns, and featured colors like black, gold, white, pink, and red. Fabrics ranged from suede and silk to sequins and metal. Shapes focused on the hourglass figure, highlighted by strong shoulders and pronounced hips. Accessories included gold belts, gold-tipped heels, fold-over boots, and gold necklaces, drawing inspiration from Balmain’s lipstick tubes, eyeshadow palettes, and fragrance bottles.
