Ashanti, famously known for her hit song “Baby,” just announced that she’s expecting a baby with her boyfriend, Nelly. She shared the exciting news on Instagram on Wednesday afternoon, putting to rest all the rumors and speculations about her apparent baby bump.
For the big reveal, Ashanti posted a video with the caption “Baby baby baby baby…”. In true Ashanti style, she sported a $160 black Akira mini shirt dress adorned with rhinestones, layered with a mink vest for an extra touch of glamour.
In the video, Ashanti is seen backstage at the Barclay’s Center getting ready to perform. Her mom, Tina Douglas, asks her how much more time she needs to be ready. Ashanti humorously replies that she’ll need about nine months.
The happy news comes after a year of rekindling her relationship with Nelly, whom she originally started dating back in 2003. Almost two decades later, the couple has reunited and are now expecting their first child together.
