Comme des Garçons showcased their Fall 2020 menswear collection with male models wearing lace front cornrow wigs. For anyone who knows the detailed work of applying lace wigs, these pictures are quite amusing. The hairlines start in the middle of the forehead, the lace isn’t secured properly, and the baby hairs are flipped and curled in odd ways. The hairstyles look pretty funny.
We don’t know what the inspiration was behind these looks or what the team at CDG was thinking. With lace wigs, you either nail it or open yourself up to a lot of criticism. The models would have looked better with their natural hair instead of poorly applied wigs that even showed their real hair through the lace. They didn’t even use wig caps or proper adhesive products like Got2B or Ghost Bond!
If you’re prepping for next time, models, here’s a tip: make sure you have the right tools to install your wigs correctly.
