Comme des Garçons had their male models wear lace front cornrow wigs for their Fall 2020 show. If you’re familiar with how lace wigs should be done, you’d probably find these pictures pretty funny. The hairlines started in the middle of the forehead, the lace was exposed and not secured properly, and the baby hairs were flipped and curled in a weird way – it looked hilarious.
We have no idea what inspired these styles or what the team at CDG was thinking. One thing I’ve learned about lace wigs is that you either do them right or you end up being laughed at. Honestly, these models would have looked better just showing their natural hair, which you could actually see through the lace. They didn’t even use wig caps or any proper adhesives like Got2B or Ghost Bond.
What’s your take on this? Models, next time, make sure you’ve got the right stuff to install your wigs the right way.
