North West is carving out her own path, just like you’d expect from the oldest daughter of style icons Kanye West and Kim Kardashian. At just 10 years old, she’s already a superstar, now featured on the cover of I-D’s latest magazine issue, The New Wave.
For someone so young, North is always dreaming big and finding new ways to reinvent herself. In her first solo magazine cover interview with I-D’s editor-in-chief Alastair McKimm, she opens up about her goals and dreams.
North shares that she loves the song “Through the Wire” by her dad, Kanye West, and credits him for influencing her love of singing and performing. She’s also incredibly close to her family, naming her sister Chicago’s fashion shows in their closet as some of the best she’s ever seen.
For the cover shoot, North rocked a black hoodie over a black crew neck and grey oversized jeans splattered with drawings and paint. She looked completely in her element, accessorized with a black cap and a skeleton crown—perfect for the Halloween debut of her cover.
When asked what she wants to be when she grows up, the TikTok star has big plans: she dreams of being a basketball player, a rapper, and an artist. She even mentioned wanting to walk dogs at thirteen to earn money for art supplies. Ultimately, she has entrepreneurial ambitions too, hoping to own Yeezy and SKIMS one day.
Clearly, North is growing up fast and channeling the ambition of her famous parents. Her desire to someday own Yeezy and SKIMS shows her business aspirations, likely influenced by her savvy grandmother, Kris Jenner.
Without a doubt, North West is poised to lead the new generation of artists, performers, and influencers. It’s safe to say we should get ready for some amazing things from her in the future.
