A bright yellow school bus with “LAPOINTE” written in bold letters pulled up to a loft-style building on Broadway in New York, dropping off some of the most fashionable models who could be termed “It-girls.” The theme for designer Sally LaPointe’s latest Fall ’24 Ready-to-Wear collection was all about going back to school and standing out as the best-dressed. From what we saw on the runway, this mission was definitely accomplished.
LaPointe stayed true to her signature style, featuring rich monochromatic palettes and feather details on dresses, sleeves, and luxurious boleros. She also incorporated various textured fabrics that easily transition from day to night.
While back-to-school fashion often means uniforms or dress codes, LaPointe’s collection promoted individual expression. It was a clear reminder that to be remembered, one must stand out. In addition to classic colors like black and white, LaPointe introduced vibrant shades for Fall ’24, including neon green, baby blue, and peach, all of which grabbed attention.
The clothing was stunning, and the accessories fit the theme perfectly, including studded and spiked backpacks from a collaboration with New York jewelry store Chrishabana.
